In 2008, United refurbished 24 Boeing 747s with its new "Suite Dreams" configuration, and due to the rising fuel prices, retired the rest.
However, 2010 saw one of the retired aircraft, this one, re-enter active duty, for high-demand summer months. It is based in San Francisco, adding supplemental capacity to Asia. This is the last United 747 that still flies with the pre-renovation interior and the 1993 "Battleship Gray" paint job.
Touching down at SFO at the end of another journey.
